Platinum Credit Partners with "Run for the Nile 2024".

At Platinum Credit, environmental sustainability and community engagement are core pillars of our Corporate Social Responsibility framework. As part of our 2024 CSR initiatives, we contributed UGX 10 million towards the Run for the Nile 2024 marathon, reinforcing our commitment to protecting Uganda’s key ecosystems and supporting community-led conservation.

Strategic Objectives

  • Promote Environmental Conservation: Support active measures against threats facing the River Nile basin, such as invasive species (water hyacinth) and plastic pollution.
  • Encourage Community Action: Leverage health and fitness through sport to raise public awareness about protecting critical water resources.
  • Drive Sustainable Partnerships: Collaborate with local organizations and community leaders to fund long-term environmental protection and tree-planting initiatives.

Key Benefits

  • Direct Conservation Funding: The UGX 10M contribution directly financed marathon operations, eco-awareness kits, and eco-restoration drives along the Nile Basin.
  • Increased Public Engagement: The marathon mobilized thousands of participants—including corporate teams, local residents, and environmental advocates—to run for a common eco-friendly cause.
  • Strengthened Corporate Responsibility: Aligns Platinum Credit’s brand values with practical social and environmental solutions across Uganda.

Impact

  • Ecosystem Restoration: Funds raised helped finance biological controls, cleanup efforts, and community tree planting along the river banks.
  • Heightened Environmental Awareness: Sparked wide-scale public conversations on sustainable water management and responsible tourism in the region.
  • Community Empowerment: Provided local organizing partners with resources to scale up ongoing environmental advocacy in neighboring towns.

Platinum Credit remains dedicated to investing in initiatives that protect our environment and uplift Ugandan communities. We thank the organizers, participants, and staff members who laced up and made "Run for the Nile 2024" a success.
