Strengthening Community Safety: Platinum Credit Constructs Child and Family Protection Unit in Bwizabwera
At Platinum Credit, we are committed to supporting initiatives that protect the vulnerable and foster safer, more just communities. As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, we constructed and handed over a dedicated Child and Family Protection Unit (CFPU) at the Mbarara Rural Police Headquarters in Bwizabwera.
This specialized facility provides a secure, private, and trauma-informed environment where victims of domestic violence, child abuse, and gender-based issues can seek help, counseling, and legal assistance with dignity.
Objectives
- Provide Safe, Private Spaces: Create a secure environment separate from standard police holding areas to handle sensitive family and child protection cases confidentially.
- Support Justice & Rehabilitation: Partner with law enforcement to strengthen the handling, documentation, and resolution of gender-based and child-related cases.
- Promote Social Welfare: Invest in social protection infrastructure that safeguards vulnerable women and children across rural Mbarara.
